Unprecedented rainfall
carried by the typhoon
water rising like a frenzy tide
unyielding, unforgiving…
Roads and highways turned into rivers
gushing and rushing angry currents
turning fields into streams…
Cars with lights still on
bobbing like toys cars
in the flood water…
Their owners had long gone
succumbing to the fate of abandoning their prized possession
because their lives were at stake
and to remain alive had become a priority.
