Your outstretched hand
Invites me from behind a glossy coat
I wish I could grasp it
And never let go
You’d pull me into
A haze of sweet nothings
Heavy riffs and stolen kisses
Love across the amplifiers
Rough, against the walls
Euphoric madness intermingled
With intoxicating waves of passion
There’s no curtain call
For there’s no end to the rush
And the music never ceases
And I’ll remain eternally besotted
By your black waves and emerald gaze
Reality becomes but a relic
Temptation caresses me
Like an old lover after too much wine
As I gaze at your outstretched hand
With a familiar smile
Ghosting my face
I set you down as the raindrops fell
And left your outstretched hand behind
