There once was a butterfly,
So graceful and shy,
Whenever it rained,
Took shelter to hide.
It loved the sun and the wind,
But rain it never did like,
Daily it prayed and prayed so hard,
That the rain would never start.
Just like that, it had its wish,
Not a single sound of swish,
So glee with delight,
It started its flight.
Enjoying all in its sight,
Everyday the sun shone bright,
Though once a friend,
Now turned a foe.
Sweet, cool rain, where did it go?
“The sun I wanted and it came,
Now please go back,
I desire rain”.
So it prayed and prayed again,
But this time intently on rain,
Rain came and butterfly smiled,
Sun no more in its mind.
……
There and here,
Back and fore,
Desire less,
And deserve more.
