Life is too short,
We never know,
The time we have left,
We cannot predict.
So, express your love,
Appreciate what you have,
You may not have the chance,
For hugs and goodbyes.
These common platitudes,
Seem trite and cliched,
A tool to induce guilt,
When love is a weapon.
Whilst some already long,
And have mourned,
What is and will never be,
In the here and now.
