I am waiting by the meadows,
Seeking unwavering pleasure,
Hiding in the comfort of the shadows,
Denying the gate to the infinite treasure.
I am in the class, basking in tranquillity,
Looking out the window picking serenity,
Feeling shallow is some gruesome fragility,
The benign makes me feel better in amenity.
I am sitting still on the bench by the railway,
The freight train blasting horns burn my ears,
My life wrecked, car totalled on the highway,
Just scraping by, longing for the sweet gears.
I am still here, still waiting, where is the outcome,
The anticipation absolutely kills the ethereal soul,
Mind in a tantrum, heart squawking, eyes succumb,
My mental fortitude slowly cracks away at the howl,
Of the voices of the void.
