“To Infinity and Beyond” at MGM Cotai celebrates the pioneering legacy of Chinese artist Hsiao Chin, a revered figure in modernist abstract art within Chinese art history.
Hsiao Chin was a key member of the 1950s Punto Movement, a significant abstract art movement founded in Taiwan in the 1950s. The movement emphasized the exploration of spiritual and cosmic themes through abstraction, and it was instrumental in introducing modernist abstract art to Taiwan and later to other parts of Asia.
This groundbreaking exhibition, curated by Calvin Hui and consulted by Philip Dodd, invites you on a journey through Hsiao Chin’s evolution from the 1960s to today. Delve into immersive experiences featuring digital sculpture, cosmic films, and virtual reality artworks, seamlessly blending tradition and innovation to illuminate universal energy, evoking profound resonance.
