Born in 1953 in Changhua, Taiwan, Yang Mao-Lin is a Taipei-based artist known for his diverse body of work spanning painting, computer animation, installation, and sculpture.

Graduating from the fine art department of Chinese Culture University in 1979, he later co-founded the Taipei Painting School in 1985.

Mao-Lin’s art reflects Taiwan’s cultural identity, exploring its history and colonial influences with humor and insight. He has exhibited extensively, including 28 solo exhibitions since 1987, and has received prestigious awards such as the 1st Hsiungshin Prize for Fine Arts in 1991.
