U-En Ng has extensive experience in both the performing arts in Malaysia as well as the documentation of key national and political affairs. He possesses two decades’ experience in journalism and publishing, and has served as biographer to former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohammad in both volumes of his memoirs, Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali (as editor), former Inspector-General of police Tun Hanif Omar, and several others. He has also served as corporate historian and editorial consultant to organisations including Sime Darby Bhd, the Incorporated Society of Planters, Khazanah Nasioanal Bhd, and more.
Simultaneously, U-En is an active participant in the performing arts. He has previously won a BOH Cameronian Arts Award for his libretto to Ismail The Last Days, which is a verse-form dramatisation of the life of Tun Dr Ismail Abdul Rahman in collaboration with the music of Dato’ Johari Salleh. He is also a musician, and is a founding member and managing partner of the renaissance-baroque period ensemble Wicked Music People PLT which has performed both at home and abroad in a large variety of venues including Dewan Filharmonik Petronas, the jazz club Jao Tim, the George Town Festival, The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (klpac), and more.
