Theatre of The Mind is a collective that produces top-notch audio plays with Malaysian characters, to highlight Malaysia’s people, diversity, culture and scenes to global audiences. As the scenes are set in Malaysia, we aim to represent as much of our colourful society in our scripts and include actual local institutions (eg: the Mamak/ Kopitiam/ bank – i.e. Pelita; Ali, Muthu, Ah Hock; Maybank) in wanting to bring authenticity (to new, global audiences), a sense of home (for Malaysian audiences abroad), and in the spirit of “Kita Jaga Kita”, as our listenership grows, we hope to bring more support to local businesses too, says Anita Woo, who is the producer, announcer and a voice actor in the series.
