Sabera Shaik is an actor, theatre director and artistic director of her own theatre company, Masakini Theatre Company based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Her repertoire of work includes her own written and performed solo work i.e. Puteri Saadong and Lady Swettenham. Others are productions under the Masakini stable – Othello, Urmi, The Swamp Dwellers, Wayang, and many more.

In recent years Masakini has focused on shadow theatre and is, in fact, the
first theatre company in Malaysia to pioneer and produce shadow theatre
works. Recent works since 2019 include the sellout Wayang Mak Yong Stories, Lari, and Tiga Rawana. In 2022 she was commissioned to direct
Ratu Kuning, a dance drama for Istana Budaya, that premiered in September 2022.

Masakini Theatre Company continues to offer experiences that are off-the-
wall, out-of-the-box, and cutting-edge original.
