Mark Beau de Silva has been a resident director and writer at the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KLPAC) since 1999.

His first play “Stories for Amah” was based on his life growing up as a Eurasian-Chinese boy with his grandmother in Kulim, Kedah.

Mark has since written and directed many other plays for the stage in Malaysia, South Korea, Russia, Singapore and New York.

He won the Best Writing Award in the Cameronian Arts Awards 2016, the Mercedes Award for Creative Excellence 2017 and 2019 and The Edge Young Leaders Award 2019.

Mark is currently a Senior Lecturer with the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Taylors University.
