Kalpana Dance Theatre was founded in 1998 by Shangita Namasivayam, a graduate of Kalakshetra, protegée and student of two of the greatest and globally renowned cultural icons from the Indian subcontinent, Rukmini Devi Arundale and Chandralekha, with the mission:

*To offer a platform to young and talented students

*To promote and showcase the best of Indian culture in Malaysia Kalpana Dance Theatre is not only a leading dance school but also an influential platform in South Asia for iconic dance performances.
