Gavin Yap is an actor/writer/theatre director and film maker. His theatre directing credits include ‘The Homecoming’, ‘Endgame’, ‘4.48 Psychosis’ and most recently Jit Murad’s ‘Gold Rain & Hailstones’ in 2019. His feature film directorial debut, ‘Take Me To Dinner’, was released in Malaysian cinemas in March 2014. He was awarded the Blencong Award in 2015 at the Jogja International Film Festival for his short film ‘The Incredibly Strange Tale Of The Man Who Lost His Love But Bought It Back With A Packet Of Duck Rice’. In 2019, he wrote and co-directed ‘Revenge Of The Pontianak’, with acclaimed Singapore filmmaker Glen Goei, which was released theatrically in Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei and is now available globally on Netflix. He recently completed work on his next film, ‘Geng Kubur’, which is scheduled for release in 2024.
