Abdul Shakir, also known as ‘Grasshopper/Belalang’, is one of the leading multi-disciplinary multimedia artists in Malaysia whose works seek to explore the intersection between art, technology and immersive experiences.

He has worked in post-production and production agencies, where he also engaged in diverse undertakings spanning design and art fields including graphic design, motion graphics, projection mapping, and interactive installations.

Grasshopper’s artworks have been exhibited in various international and local art exhibitions, including Singapore Night Festival 2023, ANTARA Extended @ Jakarta 2023, Graphika Manila 2021, Bangkok Projection Mapping Competition 2021, Cosmolight Projection Mapping in Greece and Digital Art Gallery (D.A.G) in Kuala Lumpur.

Grasshopper is also the co-founder of Filamen, a new media art collective that is behind some of the most celebrated digital art exhibitions in Malaysia, such as Immersio, When Nights Fall at George Town Festival 2019 and Rainforest in the City 2019.
